Big Bang (빅뱅) / BIGBANG adalah boy band dari Korea Selatan. Kelompok ini terdiri dari 5 personel, masing-masing mempunyai bagian suara berbeda atau rapping. Mereka dianggap sebagai anggota wajah yang baru dari “Keluarga YG” di bawah asuhan YG Entertainment. Setelah meluncurkan karier mereka pada tahun 2006, Big Bang berhasil populer dan sukses pada tahun 2007 dengan singel “Lies” (거짓말). Kesuksesan ini menempatkan Big Bang sebagai boy band ternama Korea Selatan, dan bersaing dengan grup penyanyi wanita Wonder Girls. Selain dikenal berkat lagu-lagu hit mereka, anggotanya juga dijadikan panutan dalam gaya berbusana.


Sebelum meluncurkan karier mereka dengan perusahaan rekaman besar, masing-masing anggota Big Bang sudah tidak asing lagi dengan dunia hiburan. G-Dragon, sang pemimpin, dan Tae Yang telah menjadi anggota YG Entertainment sejak mereka berusia 12 tahun. Keduanya dikenal sebagai “GDYB” yang merupakan singkatan nama mereka berdua ‘GD dari G-Dragon dan YB’ dari Young Bae (nama asli Tae Yang). Anggota bernama T.O.P dikenal sebagai rapper hip hop underground, sementara Seung Ri pertama kali masuk ke dalam dunia industri hiburan ketika diikutsertakan dalam acara milik Shinhwa, “Let’s Cokeplay Battle”.
Setelah anggota Big Band lengkap, jaringan televisi MTV Korea membuat 10 episode dokumenter yang memuat tentang aktivitas mereka selama menjalani latihan sebelum diluncurkan sebagai boy band. Episode 6 bagian pertama merinci tentang motivasi dan latar belakang para amhhpya untuk menjadi seorang penyanyi.
